Joy Lee Pearson, M.A., CPH, joined MDB as a graduate fellow in 2008 and now conducts research and analysis on breaking issues that affect environmental justice, worker safety and health, and emergency response. Her work includes making policy recommendations in those fields, with a focus on disaster preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery. Joy also provides technical and logistical assistance for meetings and conferences, including agenda planning, speaker training, and onsite support. While Joy enjoys traveling with her colleagues to meet and learn from experts around the world, she also enjoys watching movies at home with her husband, twin daughters, and son.
