Amber Hogan Mitchell, DrPH, M.P.H., CPH, has spent her career focused on public health and occupational safety and health, specifically infectious disease prevention. She is currently president and executive director of the International Safety Center, as well as a senior adviser to both MDB and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences’ Worker Training Program. Mitchell holds an adjunct faculty position at the University of Maryland School of Medicine Department of Environmental and Occupational Medicine. She began her career as the first National Bloodborne Pathogens Coordinator for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and has worked in many sectors of the industry. She holds a doctorate in public health and a master’s in public health. She is also certified in public health and fitness nutrition, and is a published author of the book, Preventing Occupational Exposures to Infectious Disease in Health Care.
