Mary Clark has dedicated much of her career to supporting people served by onsite wastewater treatment (septic) systems, which comprise 25% of the U.S. population. She considers her role with MDB, which includes supporting the federal decentralized wastewater program, to be the honor of a lifetime. Mary specializes in developing and implementing educational strategies for homeowners and working at the community level to institute affordable solutions for unsewered villages. Her experiences include roles as a system designer, onsite and large system regulator, project manager for scientific studies and community wastewater management plans, and manufacturer representative for advanced treatment technologies. Mary spends her free time in her gardens learning how to identify warblers by their songs.
