Mali Velasco, M.E.M., specializes in developing and designing environmental health communication materials to share research findings with scientists and the public. Her thorough understanding of environmental health and toxicology informs her contributions to projects focused on creating practical solutions to improve public health. She provides research communication, analytical support, and event management and logistical services to clients at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. Through her interactions with environmental professionals in academia, local and federal government, and nonprofits, Mali has learned that science communication is critical to allowing research to positively impact society. In her spare time, she finds peace in nature and hiking, climbing, and caring for her “plant babies.”
