Kevin Yeskey, M.D. is the former Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary to the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). In that capacity, he oversaw the National Hospital Preparedness Program, the National Disaster Medical System, the Strategic National Stockpile, ASPR Regional Offices, and ASPR emergency response activities.
Dr. Yeskey spent more than 24 years as a physician in the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS). In his PHS career, he served in various HHS Operating Divisions, including the Indian Health Service, the Health Services and Resources Administration, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. From 2007 to 2012, he was an initial leader within ASPR and served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response and the Director of the Office of Preparedness and Emergency Operations.
Dr. Yeskey has been a Board-Certified Emergency Physician for over 30 years. He received his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University and undergraduate degree from Brown University.
